Click Start New Backup to create a new backup. I'll look into removing Growl and see .. I thought this was messing with the time so I deleted it and restored the defaults by restoring Time Machine's LaunchDaemons in the system library from an earlier backup. Unfortunately that didn't work for me- its still goes through all of them.
