I couldn't repair or even erase/reformat the Time Machine partition through Disk Utility as it just didn't recognise it. However, I recently came across a bug with how it authenticates that surprised me. OK, so now I have gone into Airport Utilities and erased the time capsule completely...still can't mount it. Not too sure...I don't remember changing any settings or anything recently but within the last 2 weeks or so I haven't been able to backup at all.

This is were my problem was I had a different password here and that was why TM could not access TC to start the backup.
