When a backup failure does happen (only rarely/sporadically) this is the easy way back to normal operation. I got no response, so I decided to search the web, which I should have done initially. NEW! theres a new error.. In case the Time Machine drive isn’t mounted on Desktop then using Disk Utility (located in /Application/Utilities) you can unmount the drive to fix the issue.
