Telling it to ignore the existing sparse bundle is a complicate issue. When I start iTunes, it does not automatically connect TC, hence the music is not availeable, unless I try to start Time Machine. Idk what 'mount drive' means but i saw it as an option in disk utility when the Seagate was hardwired, but not when it is plugged into the airport. get redirected here Sometimes when Time Machine gives up a window pops up and says: Time Machine could not complete the backup.

I also strongly recommend you make that initial backup with Time Capsule using a wired connection - it'll be MUCH faster. Others to select the time machine icon, open TM preference and select change disk. Erase the Seagate, restart TM and start over. Might need a new cable.

I am clueless! Before going through the tedious RMA process I would try to: 1) Unplug the drive 2) Reboot the Mac (without the drive connected) 3) Connect the drive 4) Open Disk Utility
