HOW do I tell my time machine to send the music files to my 3TB WD external hard drive instead of my Macbook's hard drive? Your Mac knows how to format the drive as "MS-DOS (FAT)" so Windows can read it, but Time Machine won't work with that format. If you have a desktop Mac with two internal drives I guess you could back up from one to the other.
